Who am I and where am I going?

Who am I and where am I going?

I have often wondered about it and “I am” if the understanding that the whole essence of a spiritual being is a person that is truly filled with the Spirit of God. Our whole reason for living is to fulfil the will of God, in other words to do the job God sent us to do. You see everyone on this earth has a purpose to do and until we realise and ask God to show us our calling we may be living in vain. The Will of God for my life is different from the will of God for you that is the reason we are all uniquely different.

The bible says ‘seek ye first the Kingdom of God and every other thing shall be added unto you.’

We cannot begin to seek this kingdom if we are not spiritually endowed. Because, the road to eternal life is not easy neither is it made on bed of roses. We can’t afford to please our fresh and ignore pleasing God, we keep on committing sin and expect God’s grace to abide. Remember Our Lord cannot be mocked. If we decide to follow God and be “Christ like” then we must also put away our old habits and characteristics as well as behaviours that does not please God. “I am a new creature, old things are passed away behold all things has become new.”

It’s amazing how when it comes to celebrations like Christmas and Easter, Churches will be so full of people that sometimes tents will have to be erected. And if we ask all those people if they were Christians, majority of them will proudly reply with an astonishing “YES”. If this is the case, why is it that it’s sometimes impossible to separate us from those that are still in the world?

I have come to understand that it’s easier to claim the title ‘Christian’ than it is to live a life if a ‘Christian’ this is because most of us feel that if we are born into Christian homes or if we were baptised in our infancy then we automatically qualify as Christians. And we don’t need to be followers of Christ.

Well, am sorry to disappoint us. All the above does not make us Christians. Going to Church does not make us Christians. We first and foremost have to accept Jesus Christ into our hearts as our Lord and personal Saviour. And if we sincerely give our whole self, mind life and Spirit to him, He is faithful and just to forgive us and take us as His own.

It’s true that the road to Gods presence is very narrow and only a few struggle to go on it.

Let’s live our lives as if God is coming tomorrow. God bless you.
